Mapping USA - Coming in May!

Have you heard about Mapping USA? Our virtual spring conference is a celebration of OpenStreetMap across the US. The event kicks off Thursday May 20th with a Mappy Hour, Friday enjoy a half day of talks, and Saturday join workshops, birds of a feather conversations, and mapathons. Register today!

Call for Proposals Open

Calling all members of the OSM community: submit your ideas and session proposals for Mapping USA!
Call for proposals closes April 23
The program will include space for short talks, workshops, birds of a feather sessions, and there’s even room for improvisational sessions, mapping parties, and other creative ideas you might have.

Call for Sponsors

OpenStreetMap US strives to make all of our events, including Mapping USA, financially accessible to our mapping community. Support from event sponsors helps keep registration free for our virtual events. Access the sponsorship guide here.

Member Spotlight

Meet OpenStreetMap US member Valerie Anderson. Valerie is the Director of Communications & Programming for the Florida Native Plant Society. She is a science communicator who also conducts fieldwork including rare plant surveys, prescribed burning, plant rescues, and restoration plantings. Valerie was first introduced to OpenStreetMap while writing her Master's thesis. Valerie says:

"I was checking a lot of Linux and programmer news and using QGIS for my M.S. that's where I first heard of OSM. I made my first edit to an AirBnB on a vacation to southwest Florida. I contribute because one day soon I would like to use an OSM-based router on my phone and right now that isn't possible."
