OpenStreetMap US Board Election Results

Congratulations to the 2021 OpenStreetMap US board members: Martijn van Exel, Diane Fritz, Jubal Harpster, Minh Nguyễn & Daniela Waltersdorfer!

Thanks to all who made our board elections successful, from the candidates to our members to Ian Dees, the independent election observer. We are especially grateful for our outgoing board member Alyssa Wright, who has served on the board since 2015. Here’s to another excellent year of OpenStreetMap US, and good luck to the new board members.

The OpenStreetMap US Team is Growing!

OpenStreetMap US is excited to welcome Nellie Rose Blair to the OSM US team. Nellie has stepped into the role of our first Philanthropy & Engagement Coordinator and is working on a part-time basis to enhance communications, boost member relations, write grants, and help secure funding for OSM US.

12 Months of OpenStreetMap

February's 12 Months of OSM focus was Black History Month. Thank you to our friends at OpenHistoricalMap (OHM) who shared some interesting projects with us and to Mappy Hour speaker Mara Cherkasy who shared the Mapping Segregation project. Interested in helping? Both projects are looking for contributors!

In March help us celebrate Women’s History Month by honoring women in geospatial and projects impacting women. Have a project to share? Let us know!

Thank you craigslist Charitable Fund

We are thrilled to announce a generous donation of $80,000 from the craigslist Charitable Fund.
