OpenStreetMap US becomes official OSMF Local Chapter

On September 24, the OpenStreetMap Foundation voted to make OpenStreetMap US an official Local Chapter. What does this mean for OpenStreetMap US? OpenStreetMap US has been advocating for and supporting the growth of OpenStreetMap in the United States since 2010, but becoming a Local Chapter makes it clear that we are all part of the same community. And since community is the backbone of OpenStreetMap, we believe that this is a positive step forward and shows solidarity with the entire OSM network. 

Connect 2020 - Register Today!

Join fellow OpenStreetMap enthusiasts and contributors for Connect 2020, a free, virtual event to celebrate our community and all things OpenStreetMap! The event will include an informal Mappy Hour Thursday, a half day of talks on Friday, and a day of workshops, birds of a feather sessions and mapathons on Saturday. The schedule will be live in a few weeks. In the meantime, we are seeking sponsorship and registration is now open. More information is available here.

OpenStreetMap US Website ~ Request for Proposals 

OSM US is requesting proposals for a redesign of the organization’s website. Our current website at openstreetmap.us is 6-7 years old. While our mission has not changed, we feel that the site does not address our needs entirely. The organization has grown as well as our offerings and we'd like the website to reflect these changes.
