Competition Registration Deadline: May 15
To enter the competition, complete the following steps:

- Register for the competition by May 15, 2026.
- Select one of the four impactful competition themes:
- Mapping for Mobility, Open Data for Healthier Ecosystems, Open Data for Resiliency, or Mapping for Your Community.
- Build a related story using OSM data and Esri’s ArcGIS StoryMaps—or another visual medium, such as a webpage, Canva creation, or slide deck.
Submit your completed story by June 1, 2026. |

OpenWetlandsMap
Exciting news: OSM US is partnering with EPIC (the Environmental Policy & Innovation Center) on a new project, OpenWetlandsMap.
The project's goal is to improve the current complicated, disorganized, and often outdated state of wetland data in the US through collaboration and OSM.

Announcing the Latest OSM US Charter Project: Yesterdays
"Volunteer contributors co-create a map of what their community looked like across time by georeferencing historic images of their city. Contributors draw on photographs sourced from local libraries and museums and assign each image a physical location using information from OSM, OldInsuranceMaps.net, and primary sources. Yesterdays is a web-based tool for education, community engagement, and an accessible entry point into the world of OpenStreetMap and open data..."
