OpenStreetMap US is thrilled to support the growth and future of OSMCha. The OSMUS Charter Project designation provides OSMCha with a sustainable home that allows the project to be governed by input and leadership from across the community, including mappers, corporate users, and donors.
Over the past year, the OSM US Trails Working Group has been working with stakeholders to improve OSM tagging and representation in navigation apps to support responsible recreation.
Voting for the OpenStreetMap US board begins in just a few days! If you missed the candidate town hall, check out the recording to learn more about the candidates. Be sure to review the elections wiki to read candidate position statements.
There's a limited availability of early bird tickets this year, so get yours soon! Ticket prices will go up when early bird tickets run out or by March 30, 2023. And don't forget to submit your talk proposal & apply for a scholarship to the largest OpenStreetMap gathering in North America! Can't wait to see you in Richmond, VA in 111 days.
In 2022, OpenStreetMap US's TeachOSM program awarded Collaboration Grants to schools working together to improve their local map. Read this blog from Bill Wetherholt, Asst. Professor of Geography at Frostburg State University, on how their grant was used to improve OSM in Appalachia.
