OpenStreetMap US is now a 1% for the Planet Environmental Partner!
We are pleased to announce OpenStreetMap US has been selected as a 1% for the Planet as an Environmental Partner! This partnership will advance our impact through the OpenStreetMap US Trails Stewardship Initiative by creating new avenues for businesses to support our efforts around responsible recreation and environmental protection.
With this partnership, we have launched the Trails Stewardship Fund. The Fund will serve as the foundation for the growth of the Trails Stewardship Initiative, with donations earmarked to support a sustainable solution for responsible recreation through the management of digital trail data in OpenStreetMap.
Through these efforts, navigation apps will be able to better display OpenStreetMap trail data, improve trail users’ ability to engage in responsible recreation and protect our natural world.
In the coming months, OpenStreetMap US will be launching two more pilot projects to improve and continue developing the Public Domain Map toolkit and workflow.
For a decade, MapRoulette has served as a favorite tool for the OpenStreetMap community by hosting challenges that improve the world's largest open geospatial database. Now, we're challenging the OpenStreetMap community to meet or beata generous donation from TomTom.
Every dollar raised helps support data quality in OpenStreetMap!
MapRoulette is a volunteer-run project fiscally hosted by OpenStreetMap US through our Charter Project Program. All donations and financial investments towards the project are tax deductible.
