September is Hunger Action Month

In honor of Hunger Action Month, OpenStreetMap US is focusing on mapping food access & security including grocery stores, food banks, farmers markets, community gardens and more! Check out the Food Security page on the OSM Wiki for more ideas and instructions on how to map these features. Be sure to use the changeset comment #12monthsofOSM when uploading your edits!

OSM US Mappy Hour

OSM US hosts regular Mappy Hours featuring a variety of topics and guest speakers. For September's 12 Months of OSM theme of food access, guest speaker Alex B. Hill spoke on food access in Detroit, including his work with Detroit Food Map You can see Alex's presentation as well as previous Mappy Hours here.
