In March of 2023, Stamen Design presented the inaugural OpenStreetMap Oscars, a fun and very much not-serious online awards ceremony celebrating the unique, the beautiful, and the strange in the OSM database. In this presentation, we’ll share some backstage showbiz gossip from behind the curtain, how we promoted OpenStreetMap to an audience of new and experienced mappers and essentially got a bunch of people to fill out some Google Forms online.
