How do you determine the best route from point A to point B? In this talk, we will explore the core components of Lyft’s routing algorithm, highlighting how it integrates with OpenStreetMap (OSM) to provide high-quality routes for the ride-share use-case. We will discuss some of the machine learning components we’ve built to leverage OSM data as well as the continuous feedback loop we’ve created to enhance OSM data accuracy based on driver behavior and improve our routing algorithm.

Tim Tadros is a senior data science on the Mapping Science team at Lyft. He received his PhD from UCSD in computational neuroscience in 2022, focusing on neuro-inspired AI and joined the mapping team at Lyft soon after.
