Play is essential for kids to grow up healthy, happy, and ready to thrive, yet many lack access to safe places to play. Surprisingly, there’s no national database of playgrounds, making it difficult to identify gaps in playspace access. In this session, KABOOM! and OpenStreetMap US will share their planned effort to map every publicly accessible playground in the U.S. and how maps can drive investment in play infrastructure, ensuring every child has a great place to play.
