We are pleased to announce the official dates for State of the Map US! Mark your calendars for October 19th-22nd in beautiful Boulder, Colorado.
We have been working with the University of Colorado at Boulder (CU Boulder) and have arranged to use the iconic Folsom Field (home of the Buffs) as our venue for this year’s conference. This venue gives us lots of space, great technology, multiple breakout rooms, and an incredible outdoor terrace with amazing views. There are convenient transportation and parking options on-site with a variety of restaurants, landmarks, and outdoor possibilities within walking distance.
OpenStreetMap is growing faster than ever, and becoming adopted by nearly every organization, government, and company that has location needs. With Boulder’s central location and appeal, we are hoping to make this the biggest and best State of the Map US ever! This includes working closely with CU Boulder to make the conference part of the fall curriculum - one of the reasons we have scheduled the conference for October.
We will launch a website soon with further information, early registration, and a call for abstracts. Our preliminary plan is to have a short welcome reception and exhibition on October 19th with the main plenary and presentations occurring on October 20th and 21st (Friday and Saturday). We will then close the conference with workshops and activities on the 22nd.
You can always contact us directly at sotmus@openstreetmap.us for general inquiries, to join the working group, information about the sponsorship pipeline, or anything else. To sign up for updates, follow us on Twitter, talk with us on Slack, and subscribe to our newsletter.
See you this fall in Boulder!
