OpenStreetMap US

Last year, Maxar presented a collaboration with Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis introducing college students to OpenStreetMap, to support their developing geospatial program. Over the past semester, we have expanded our collaboration to local St. Louis high schools through the Spark! Program, where students meet once a week to work with local technical organizations and collaborate on a project. Through our work with the Spark! Program, Maxar introduced several driven students to the possibilities of a career in the spatial field. Students were introduced to mapping in OSM, HOT, and using the data they created in OSM to create a web map, using leaflet and Github.
