OpenStreetMap US

The OpenStreetMap in Schools program looks at introducing OpenStreetMap and open mapping techniques in schools to bolster the learning of geography while increasing the uptake of STEM education in schools. Through the use of the TeachOSM platform, students learn about open mapping by way of project-based learning and geography curricula. The TeachOSM platform is being leveraged by OSM Uganda to train OSM in schools, where students and teachers are learning digital skills through mapping techniques. OSM Uganda is implementing the program in 23 schools, where over 3000 students have been trained and 234 teachers have been trained in digital skills.
