OpenStreetMap US

Since the Overture Maps Foundation was announced in December, there has been interest about what it is, its plans, and whether it is a complement or a competitor to OpenStreetMap. At the time of SOTM-US 2023, Overture will be at its half-year mark. This is a good opportunity to check in on the progress of the project, answer questions and discuss how Overture and OpenStreetMap can work together to accelerate the growth and use of high quality open map data. Topics to be covered include:

  • What is Overture Maps Foundation?
  • What has it done since it was launched? What can we expect from it in the future?
  • How can Overture support OSM and vice-versa?
