OpenStreetMap US

One of our goals with this year’s State of the Map US conference is to bring the full diversity of the OpenStreetMap ecosystem to San Francisco for the conference, the day of workshops, and the hands-on sprint day. This will give us the solid ground we need for another year of unprecedented growth in OpenStreetMap.

That is why we are providing ten scholarships to outstanding OpenStreetMap contributors, enabling them to attend a conference that otherwise they would have to skip due to financial constraints. The scholarships will provide free admission and up to $500 to cover travel expenses such as flights and accommodations. You can apply here .

State of the Map 2013 - Scholarships

If you’re contributing to OpenStreetMap in an interesting way – whether that’s by adding data, making maps, writing code or documentation, organizing meetups, or something else – and financial help will make the difference in whether you can come to State of the Map US, apply ! We’re also taking suggestions on worthy scholars. If you know someone who fits this description or who should be at State of the Map US but isn’t planning to attend, recommend them for a scholarship .

The deadline for scholarship applications is April 21 .

For more information on the scholarship program, to apply, and to recommend a scholar, head over to the conference website .
