OpenStreetMap US

The full conference schedule is now available for State of the Map US in San Francisco, which is just around the corner on June 8 and 9. The two-day conference will be chock-full of interesting sessions with 50+ speakers talking about topics like working with vectors and imports, using OpenStreetMap in government, business, and higher education, and adding traffic and routing data to the map. Expect demos of new tools, strategy sessions on building communities around OpenStreetMap, and discussions about the future of a rapidly growing OpenStreetMap. There are many events scheduled around the main conference too. On Friday there will be a series of workshops introducing OpenStreetMap and map-making with it to newer users, and walking through how more advanced users can contribute to OpenStreetMap and make stunning maps with it. Separate registration is required for all workshops. In the evening we’ll gather at Code for America to officially kick off State of the Map with a party. Parties will also be held on Saturday night, and on Sunday evening when the fine folks at Stamen Design will host us.

Following the main conference weekend, we’ll host sprint days on Monday and Tuesday where mappers and developers will gather to work collaboratively around projects to improve OSM infrastructure and documentation. On Monday OSM PLUS - a one day event targeted to business users of OpenStreetMap - is also taking place (separate registration required).
