OpenStreetMap US

We want to increase the number of women participating in the OpenStreetMap community, and to help do so are asking women interested in geo, mapping, open data, and our community overall to submit a scholarship application to State of the Map US. The two-day conference in Washington, DC on April 12 & 13 is a great chance to learn about OpenStreetMap, get a better understanding of mapping and GIS tools, and meet an active and welcoming community of map enthusiasts to share ideas with.

The scholarship application process is quick - just tell us why you’re interested in OpenStreetMap and attending the conference. And do it now - the deadline is this Sunday, February 9. We’re setting aside 1/3 of our scholarships for women who want to join our community.

We’re lucky that our community is diverse. Two out of the five board members of OpenStreetMap US are women, and 20% of last year’s conference attendees were women. But we can do better.

Submit a scholarship application and join us in Washington, DC this April.
