OpenStreetMap US

This a guest blog post featuring OpenStreetMap community member Austin Bell. Do you have a story to tell? OpenStreetMap US news or info to share? Message us at team@openstreetmap.us and we’ll work with you to craft a blog post to share with the community!

Hello OSM US community! I am excited to announce the launch of the new Nodes & Ways podcast. I’ve been kicking this idea around for a few years now and finally decided to make it happen. As an avid podcast listener, I always thought “Wouldn’t it be cool if OpenStreetMap had a one…. we really should”. Of course, we have great news sources in places like WeeklyOSM and the r/openstreetmap Reddit, and there are good tutorials from places like HOT up on YouTube. But what I want to do is a little different. Conversations and interviews about OSM with the people who make and use it.

The plan is to start with one episode a month, and pending interest and support from the community grow from there.

You can find me @Austin on the OSMUS Slack or you can email me using austin@nodesandways.com.

The first episode is out now “An interview with Maggie Cawley” and episodes 2 and 3 are already in the works!

Right now you can find the podcast over at LBRY, YouTube, and you can get the RSS feed at nodesandways.com. It will soon be available on Apple Podcast, Google Podcast and Spotify. I’ll post as they become available as well as ways to support the show.

So, if you’re doing something cool with OpenStreetMap and would like to talk about it, I would love to hear from you. If you’re mapping your neighborhood, working on large scale data analytics or anything in between. I’m curious to know more about it!
