The American Geographical Society’s TeenMaptivists project is introducing students in high schools to GeoSTEM through OSM activism. This presentation will overview how highschoolers, especially young women, are introduced to how OSM and the humanitarian community collaborate to serve local and remote localities, and how thinking spatially and creating geospatial data and maps can help solve diverse problems. Ideas for how OSM software can be adapted for high schoolers will also be discussed.
